I have been thinking a lot about assessment in my TAB classroom over the years. Recently I did a presentation on how I did assessment this year in my room. This assessment came about from my district redesigning the art curriculum, aligned to the national standards, and a commitment to have students do more self assessing as they take ownership of learning goals for their classes. My students are very articulate now about what they are doing, what their goals are, and what steps they will take to achieve their goals.
